The Tiger and Crane style of kung fu is a direct descendant
of the fighting style
developed by Chinese monks at the Shaolin temple during the 5th century ad.
Emphasizing fluidity, speed, power and control,
this style of kung fu functions as a guide
through which the student expands the limits of their
abilities and combines them harmoniously to find
truth in action and ability.
Tiger and Crane Kung Fu encompasses all areas
of combat, including hand and elbow strikes, kicks, takedowns,
grappling, throws and holds.
Although this style contains an exhaustive array of
combative techniques, it is not solely concerned with combat.
Also included in the curriculum are strength building, medicinal
exercises, as well as a wide range of stretching and constitutional
programming.
Tiger and Crane Kung Fu is above all a holistic
system of self improvement and discovery, stressing balance,
wisdom, courage, sensitivity and fortitude.
